Gordon LeRoy Olson

Mr. Gordon Olson, of Saukville and formerly of Fredonia, passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2012 at his home. He was 71 years old. Gordon was born December 18, 1940 in Baldwin, WI, the son of Elmer Kafus Olson and Lucille Hamilton. Gordon graduated from Baldwin High School, and later from UW River Falls with a Bachelors in Education. On October 13, 1962, he was united in marriage with Linda Brandt. The couple resided in Fredonia, where they raised their family. Gordon was a 6th grade teacher at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington for 37 years, retiring in 1999. Gordon was very proud of his Norwegian heritage, belonging to the Sons of Norway and participating in activities to promote his heritage. Gordon was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton. He enjoyed participating in various sports, from childhood all the way through the end of his life. Gordon and Linda spent winters in Arizona, where they formed many friendships. Gordon is survived by his wife Linda and their children: Mark (Kim) of Hayward, WI, Amber (Dan) Kreif of Belgium and Brad (Amy) of Saukville. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM on Saturday, March 17 at Grace Lutheran Church, 715 Sixth Ave., Grafton with Pastor Paul Bulgerin officiating. Gordon will be laid to rest at the Holden East Norwegian Cemetery in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:30-4PM.
