Merwin J. Swisher

Merwin J. Swisher, 85, of Graterford, formerly of Ambler died peacefully Thursday, July 14, 2011 at home with his family. Born in Lock Haven, PA he was the son of the late Lewis Pedigree and Dorothy Swisher. Mr. Swisher was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hope G. (nee Galanti) Swisher in 2005, and his brothers Lewis Pedigree and Robert Pedigree. Merwin served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He was a Warehouseman, employed by Amchem Products in Lower Gwynedd for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1991. He was an avid hunter and loved the mountains. In addition he loved to travel the country by road to study Civil War history. Mr. Swisher was the devoted father of Faith S. Della Donna and her husband Anthony of Graterford and Mark Swisher of Stroudsburg. He is the loving grandfather of 5. He is also survived by his sisters Alberta Alio of Waterfall, PA Florence Migliacio of Lansdale, Sara Volpe of Ambler, and Helen Black of Waterfall, PA.
